Why Use Toner Over Ink

Whether you own a home business or work for a commercial business, your use of printers will never be alike. The printer usage is subject to your printer and budget. Both ink printers and and toner printers have benefits and also drawbacks. In our modern day, toner printers may be taking the higher ground.

Both printer cartridges are used in different forms of equipment. Toner is used in laser printers and copiers, while ink is clearly used in inkjet printers. Toner is a powder made out of carbon or organic dye. Ink is basically a liquid. Both kinds are carried in cartridges and can be refilled to save money. Toner tends to be a more on the expensive side but it lasts a lot longer and prints more of a quantity. Ink is very clean but can clog up easily and make blotches.

As stated earlier, toner is made of a powder that contains polymers. The toners more on the high end have super fine powder as the cheaper ones may be more grainy. Inkjet came from the need to print fast and at a higher rate. When they first came out, people no longer have to mess with a typewriter and ribbons. They didn't even have to manually fill toner cartridges. They are very popular because they are inexpensive and smaller than laser printers.

For businesses and people needing a high output with clear picture quality, toner and laser printers are absolutely the way to go. The downside is that they are very expensive and take up a lot of space. It does cost a bit more than inkjet, but you are paying for amazing quality and amazing speed for mass production.

Home users will probably lean more towards the ink jet printer because they are available for all sorts of projects. They are light, small and can fit into most places. Unfortunately they take a long time to print even a picture and don't have the best of quality in comparison. There is also the danger of smudging pictures if they are not dried immediately.

The best selection can be had when deciding what your project needs are and the amount of production that is necessary. There are major functional and financial differences in each printing strategy. Read trustworthy reviews of every product to find which is the most cost effective investment for your commercial or home business.
